Cisco’s Webex Instant Connect powers Virtual Care

Cisco’s Webex is one of the most widely used collaboration technologies by organizations across the world to improve connectivity, productivity, and efficiency.

Moreover, the platform allows for the flexibility to launch virtual visits from within care provider workflows or as a stand-alone application in a browser that has access to a camera and microphone.

As to the ease-of-use, the solution is aptly designed for the new age digital consumers who shy away from App downloads or multiple logins. With browser based WebRTC technology, the solution does not require browser plugins or force application downloads to facilitate multi-party virtual consultations. During virtual video visits, participants can share screens to review images, charts and other clinical documents to facilitate better care conversations in a secure setting. The telehealth workflows are enhanced further with the provider getting notified after a patient enters the virtual waiting room. By using Webex Control Hub, administrators can use a single-pane-of-glass to manage user adoption and get insights about the quality of telehealth calls.

Webex Instant Connect is secure by design and respects patients’ right to privacy by not storing protected health data. Patients are able to launch virtual visits without logging in or sharing personal information in a HIPAA compliant way. Furthermore, Webex Instant Connect provides privacy and security around encryption of all communication including securely sharing images or clinical documentation.
