Oxford Performance Materials gets $150k NIH grant to study implant-related infections

Oxford Performance Materials has received a $150,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to study and improve artificial hips, knees and other implanted devices-related infection treatment.

The NIH’s National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases provided the funding to Adam Hacking, PhD, chief scientific officer, at OPM. The three-year grant will support research developing new approaches for the delivery of antibiotics through OPM’s 3D printed poly-ether-ketone-ketone implants.
