Hospital for Special Surgery opens New Jersey location

Hospital for Special Surgery opened a new location in Paramus, N.J.


Here are five things to know about the new location:

1. The new building is 8,000 square feet and includes eight examination rooms. It is located near Route 17 and Garden State Parkway.

2. The office includes:

• Medical diagnosis
• Preoperative care
• Postoperative care
• Nonsurgical injury management
• X-ray suites

3. Hospital for Special Surgery hopes to bring more services into New Jersey with easy access locations. The hospital already attracts a large patient population from northern New Jersey.

4. Specialties at the new Paramus Outpatient Center include orthopedic foot and ankle care, pain management, pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis, primary care nonsurgical sports medicine, sports medicine and shoulder surgery, and rheumatology.

5. This will be Hospital for Special Surgery’s first New Jersey location, after opening centers in Long Island and Greenwich, Conn.

Surgeons who will see patients at the center include Andrew J. Elliott, MD, Roger F. Widmann, MD, Alexander P. Hughes, MD, Bernard A. Rawlins, MD, Anil S. Ranawat, MD, Gregory S. DiFelice, MD, Semih Gungor, MD, David A. Wang, MD, and Joseph A. Markenson, MD.
