Publisher Scott Becker to Speak at 20th Annual Wharton Health Care Business Conference

Scott Becker, publisher of Becker’s Hospital Review and chair of the healthcare department at McGuireWoods, is scheduled to speak at the 20th Annual Wharton Health Care Business Conference, beginning today in Philadelphia.

Mr. Becker will moderate a panel, “Healthcare Policy: Untangling Today’s Regulatory Environment and Preparing for the Future,” featuring panelists Steve Northrup, a principal at PodestoGroup and former health policy director for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee; Mark McClellan, director of the Health Care Innovation and Value Initiative at the Brookings Institution and former CMS administrator and FDA commissioner; Jonathan Blum, principal deputy administrator at CMS; and Congressman Patrick Meehan (R-Pa.), and a member of the House  Subcommittee on Energy Policy, Health Care, and Entitlements.

The conference, hosted by the Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania, draws more than 700 attendees representing a broad range of functions including business development, marketing, strategy, finance, operations and clinical development. It is taking place Feb. 20-21, 2014 at the Hyatt at the Bellevue in Philadelphia.
