Question: What three areas of population health and SDOH are you watching closely right now?
Dr. John Bulger: (1) Bringing services to people rather than providing services for people. This may replace transportation as a SDOH need. (2) Access to broadband. (3) Access to healthy food and help with preparation.
Q: What’s the centerpiece of an effective SDOH program?
JB: The ability to collaborate and listen to those in one’s community who are living this every day. They know where the needs are, and helping them is critical.
Q: What is the most underrated trait of the best leaders?
JB: The ability to learn from and absorb what isn’t said.
