In 2012, Weill Cornell Physician Organization and Cigna rolled out the first New York City-based ACO partnership between a physician group and a health plan. Two years later, Weill Cornell Physician Organization and Aetna launched an accountable care agreement incorporating 1,237 physicians. Participants in Weill Cornell Physician Organization are attending physicians at New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, as well as faculty members at Weill Cornell Medical College.
