Annie Penn Hospital, part of Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health, is postponing surgeries amid a water outage affecting the city of Reidsville, N.C., where the hospital is located.
The hospital began experiencing a water outage in the early morning hours of May 13, according to a statement. The facility said it is using emergency water supplies and has cancelled surgeries. While the emergency department remains open, patients with appointments are being sent to other Cone Health facilities.
In a social media post early May 13, the city of Reidsville confirmed its water treatment plant had experienced an electrical outage and possible water main break. All residents with water service are under a boil water advisory until further notice, the city said.
Annie Penn Hospital is a 110-bed acute care hospital.
