In March 2009, PeaceHealth and the San Juan County Public Hospital District #1 signed an agreement to expand healthcare services on the island and in July PeaceHealth signed a purchase agreement for 22 acres of land for the project.
The island’s first digital mammography was installed in Aug. 2009 by PeaceHealth, which operates at seven locations in Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
