The three-story, 250,000-square-foot Morris Hyman Critical Care Pavilion will include an expanded emergency department, coronary care unit and intensive care unit.
Approval of the plans by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, the regulatory body that monitors the construction, renovation and seismic safety of hospitals in the state, is expected soon.
Construction is expected to be completed by 2016, according to the report.
