The key focus areas of the accreditation standards are operations and structure, clinical management, health information technology, population health, patient centeredness, care coordination and measures and reporting.

Clinically integrated networks with an accreditation from URAC would have external validation that their infrastructure and processes can support collaboration, care coordination and clinical integration.

URAC’s standards were developed by a committee of stakeholders from provider organizations, health plans, consultants and consumer groups.

URAC is looking for comments on the standards from different healthcare providers, health plans and physician-hospital organizations with an interest in accountable care organizations and clinical integration. Comments must be received by Dec. 28.
