The management contract between Mercy and Morrison officially ends June 30.
Morrison officials decided to break ties with Mercy so the hospital could “explore additional revenue streams, providers, IT services, patient services, alliances, associations and cost savings beneficial to the future [of the hospital],” according to the report.
Morrison is a critical access hospital with 25 acute-care beds and 35 long-term-care beds. Mercy is part of Des Moines, Iowa-based Mercy Health Network, which is a subsidiary of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives.
