Michigan’s Eight Largest Hospital Systems Plan to Hire 14,000

Michigan’s eight largest hospital systems plan to hire approximately 14,000 people this year, according to a Detroit Free Press report.

An emailed survey by the Free Press found that 3-5 percent of the jobs projected for the year are new, including positions in information technology, medical billing and technical assistance.

Here is a list of the estimated number of openings, excluding those for doctors, nurses and therapists, the Michigan hospitals are offering.

1. Trinity Health in Novi — 385

2. University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor — not reported; hired 2,000 last year

3. Beaumont Hospitals in Royal Oak — 1,800

4. McLaren Health Care in Flint — 1,750

5. Henry Ford Health System in Detroit — 3,500 +

6. Detroit Medical Center in Detroit — 2,000

7. Oakwood Healthcare in Dearborn — 1,300

8. St. John Providence Health System in Warren — 1,800
