The hospital will expand its emergency, radiology and operating departments and its laboratory. The expansion will add four beds to the ED, bringing the total to 13. Eric Schmieg, DO, ED director, said this year the hospital’s ED may see approximately 15,000 people, a volume previously not expected until 2025, according to the report.

All told, the project will add 30,500 square feet and renovate 26,300 square feet. Construction is expected to be completed in 2013.
