The joint venture would build on UC and the Chongqing medical community’s existing relationship, including a visiting scholar program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, according to the report.
The joint-venture school could bring in more revenue through additional tuition from students, and provide students in China with robust medical school curricula, according to the report. However, discussions between the two universities are still preliminary.
Other U.S. universities have developed joint-venture schools overseas. For example, New York University and East China Normal University partnered to develop Shanghai New York University in Shanghai, according to the report.
