Time becomes significant when long wait times deny people access to care and resources they need, or when it results in lost revenue for the hospital. It is an invaluable asset.
At the 10th Annual TeleTracking Client’s Conference in October 2012, hospitals gave examples of how improving wait times helped their facilities. Advocate Good Samaritan in Chicago said that it determined it could save over a million dollars each year by eliminating the time it was holding blocked beds for potential clostridium difficile patients. That time was saved by analyzing predictive data from TeleTracking to justify the purchase of a quicker C. Diff test which cut wait time for results from three days to three hours.
