Survey: 78% of Consumers Support Bundled Healthcare Models

Bundled payment strategies are gaining traction in the hospital sector thanks to healthcare reform, and according to a survey from Booz & Company, bundled healthcare models are gaining traction with consumers, as well.

Booz & Company surveyed 1,000 U.S. consumers on bundled healthcare topics, and 78 percent of respondents indicated bundled models appealed to them.

Here are other key highlights from the survey:

•    Fifty percent of consumers said they are more willing to switch hospitals for bundles that are priced significantly lower.
•    Roughly 74 percent of respondents said they were only willing to commute within their own city to receive care under bundled payment models.
•    Four-fifths of consumers prefer bundled care coverage across all settings, beginning with the initial physician consultation to post-acute care.
