St. Louis, Mo.-based SSM Health plans to open the region’s first fully integrated maternal and newborn care center inside its new children’s hospital.
The care center will be located across four floors of the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, opening in late 2027, according to a May 12 system news release. It will include 18 maternal rooms, two cesarean delivery suites, 10 maternal newborn couplet rooms and 90 level 4 NICU beds. The center allows mothers and babies to begin and continue care in a coordinate setting, which will preserve the mother-baby bond.
“These efforts further strengthen Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital as a trusted destination for families across the St. Louis region and the Midwest,” the release said.
