Seattle Hospital to Join University of Washington Network

Northwest Hospital & Medical Center in Seattle will become part of UW Medicine, the two-hospital network of the University of Washington School of Medicine, according to a release from UW Medicine.

UW Medicine officials said acquisition of the 281-bed hospital is critical for the medical school to continue to provide primary training for medical students and residents.

UW Medicine would not rule out job cuts at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center.

UW Medicine’s two other hospitals are Harborview Medical Center and University of Washington Medical Center.
