The shooting occurred at Inland Regional Center, a facility that provides services to individuals with disabilities, according to The New York Times. Police identified two suspects in the case: Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, both of whom were killed by officers in a shootout. A third individual, whose involvement in the shooting is still unknown, fled the scene but was detained by officers.
At least 14 people were killed, with between 14 and 17 more injured, reports say.
Loma Linda spokeswoman Briana Pastorino said five victims were treated at the medical center. Two were in critical condition, two were in fair condition and one was being assessed yesterday afternoon. Six victims were treated at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, according to RT.com. Other survivors were sent to a “reunion center” at San Bernardino-based Rudy C. Hernandez Community Center.
