University Health System, Baptist Health System, Methodist Healthcare System of San Antonio and Christus Santa Rosa Health Care first considered the idea 15 years ago, but were unable to agree on a location for the facility, according to the report.

A recent feasibility study sponsored by University Health found that quality of care could be improved by combining the health systems’ efforts, according to a report by the Express-News.

A single children’s facility is now again being proposed but no specifics on the whether or not the four health systems plan to be involved were released.
