The organization will include four main components:
• Rex Health Ventures: a venture-capital investment fund that has an initial investment of $10 million from Rex Healthcare and will help finance healthcare innovations.
• Rex Impact Grants: a program that will provide grants to businesses and other organizations dedicated to improving patient care or community health.
• Rex Innovation Facilitator: a program that will receive and support innovative ideas from Rex employees and community leaders.
• Rex Joint Ventures: a program that will partner with thought leaders in technology, research and entrepreneurship to develop new healthcare products and services.
Rex President David Strong and COO Steve Burriss will be part of a team overseeing Rex Strategic Innovations and Rex Health Ventures. The team will have an advisory board comprised of healthcare and community leaders with experience in technology, research, business and investment.
