The Children’s Emergency Care center will have 13 private treatment rooms and will allow physicians and nurses to treat pediatric emergencies in a space specialized for children.
“A child-friendly space can reduce anxiety for children and curtail stress parents feel when visiting an emergency room,” Sandra Horning, MD, an emergency medicine physician at Providence, told KTUU.
The facility will also work with the Children’s Hospital at Providence, which provides treatment for pediatric inpatient care.
The center will start seeing patients Jan. 9.
