OSF St. Elizabeth Educates Community on New Culture Following Merger

OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa, Ill., formerly known as Ottawa Regional Hospital & Healthcare Center, is educating employees and patients about its new culture following its merger with Peoria, Ill.-based OSF Healthcare System May 1, according to a My Web Times report.

Tammi Coons, director of hospital and community education, said the merger has made OSF St. Elizabeth a “mission- and vision-focused organization,” according to the report. For example, now the OSF mission statement is posted throughout the hospital.

OSF Healthcare’s mission statement is the following: “In the spirit of Christ and the example of Francis of Assisi, the mission of OSF Healthcare is to serve persons with the greatest care and love in a community that celebrates the Gift of Life.”
