The Gardner Downtown Health Center was developed by the Gardner Family Health Network, a non-profit corporation that provides primary care services. The center is located on the ground floor of a county-owned building and includes six new exam rooms.
Santa Clara County, which includes San Jose, is also planning to build a $50 million, 60,000-square-foot medical clinic in San Jose by 2015.
The new center and planned clinic are designed to provide easier access to medical care, as the San Jose Medical Center was closed by HCA in 2004.
