The project will add approximately 5,000 square feet to the ED, representing a 70 percent increase. The additional space will enable the facility to accommodate increasing ED patient volume. Last year, ED patient visits increased by 3,000, bringing total patient visits to nearly 35,000, according to the release.
The ED will include 26 rooms, an expanded waiting area, a new eight-bed unit for minor conditions, a new area for behavioral health patients and a new patient evaluation room.
The project is expected to be complete in roughly eight months.
