No Patients, Staff Injured After Man Pulls Gun at Wisconsin Children’s Hospital

The hospital was quickly placed on lockdown, which lasted about two hours after police shot and arrested the suspect. The triggered lockdown was part of the hospital’s emergency response plan to help keep patients and staff safe, hospital CMO Michael Gutzheit, MD, told the Journal-Sentinel.

“We frequently review our plans and conduct hospitalwide drills to hone our response,” Dr. Gutzheit said. “We ensure experts in the safety field validate our procedures on a regular basis, and modify our policies according to the most up to date standards.”
