The five-story, $71 million Madison Hospital can eventually grow to 200 beds and will host such services as obstetrics, imaging, sleep disorder treatment, surgery, emergency & urgent care, non-invasive cardiology and physical therapy.
The groundbreaking follows a seven-year battle for a state certificate of need, facing opposition from rival Crestwood Medical Center and ending in a circuit court ruling in favor of the project.
