NCH is planning four new outpatient facilities in Arlington Heights, Palatine, Schaumburg and Mount Prospect, Ill. The system is also cutting 110 jobs at its Northwest Community Hospital, representing roughly 3 percent of the hospital’s workforce.
While NCH is changing its focus in response to healthcare reform and patient needs, Mr. Crowther said the system is not discontinuing entire services or departments, and will not have to merge to survive. “We are pretty well confirmed at being independent for the foreseeable future,” he said in the report.
