The MHA report, “Preparedness and Partnerships: Lessons Learned From the Missouri Disasters of 2011,” was created based on hospital staff surveys, interviews, presentations and individual and group discussions. The report is intended to assist hospital emergency response planners in indentifying transferrable lessons. Nine key areas were identified as opportunities for “lessons learned” — planning, communications, resources and assets, safety and security, staffing, volunteers, utilities, medical surge and evaluation.
