Clinic leaders cited a decline in demand for dialysis treatment as the main reason for discontinuing the service.
“The number of people requiring dialysis service has decreased significantly, medical advances have led to less demand for hemodialysis and there’s a shortage of specialized staff,” a statement from Aspirus reads, according to WLUC.
To connect its current patients with a new dialysis provider, Aspirus is working closely with Fresenius, a regional provider of dialysis services. The Crystal Falls clinic will offer a bus service for patients to receive treatment at different Fresenius locations.
