Merger Talks Between Texas’ Valley Baptist and Knapp Medical Center End

Merger plans for Valley Baptist Health System, based in Harlingen, Texas, and Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas, have ended, according to a report by the KGBT News.

The hospital and health system announced plans to merge in early April; however, the two recently called off discussions because of lack of support from Knapp’s medical staff.

Valley Baptist CEO said in the report that Knapp had “unresolved issues” with its physicians.
