Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa Readies New $17M ED

Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City will soon open its new $17 million emergency department after about two-and-a-half years of construction, according to a Globe Gazette report.

The 25,493-square-foot facility includes 21 private patient rooms, a decontamination room, a CT scan room, a digital technology room and nursery rooms, among other spaces. The ED also includes features to provide a comforting environment to patients, such as acoustical panels to reduce noise, no-glare floors, dimmer lights and warmed blankets.
