Lee Memorial Health System in Florida Files Letter of Intent to Build New Hospital

Ft. Myers, Fla.-based Lee Memorial Health System announced it has filed a letter of intent with Florida healthcare authorities to build an 80-bed hospital in Estero, Fla., according to a report by the News-Press.

The six-hospital system has owned the 33-acre plot for several years but delayed construction plans during the faltering economy. As the new facility opens, Lee Memorial intends to de-license some unused beds at its flagship hospital in Ft. Myers, according to the report.
