Leavitt Partners, Brookings Institution joining forces to form world’s largest ACO collaborative

Two accountable care consulting powerhouses — Leavitt Partners and the Brookings Institution — announced a merger Thursday that will result in the largest accountable care collaborative in the world, chaired by former HHS Secretary Gov. Mike Leavitt and former CMS Administrator and U.S. Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Mark McClellan, MD, PhD.

The new nonprofit Accountable Care Learning Collaborative will be the product of joining Leavitt Partners’ Accountable Care Cooperative and the Brookings Institution’s ACO Learning Network. The Accountable Care Cooperative provides primary ACO research and intelligence and the ACO Learning Network provides policy expertise and accountable care analysis and evaluation.

Together under the ACLC, the organizations will provide knowledge, resources and insight for ACO members through conferences, an enhanced ACO database, industry updates, research and tools for ACO implementation, and policy briefings.

Salt Lake City-based Western Governor’s University will host the ACLC and will offer a master’s program in integrated healthcare management.
