The Hearst Health Prize, which was awarded at the 17th annual Population Health Colloquium in Philadelphia earlier this month, recognizes Intermountain’s mental health integration program. Since 2000, the program has embedded behavioral health screening and treatment into primary care for all patients at Intermountain.
“Treatment and management of mental health conditions is a critical issue in the population health field and we congratulate the Intermountain Healthcare team for creating and implementing such an effective program,” David B. Nash, MD, said at the colloquium. Dr. Nash is the dean of the College of Population Health and was one of the Hearst Health Prize judges.
The annual Hearst Health Prize awards $100,000 to an organization or individual that has shown outstanding achievement in managing or improving health in the U.S. Its honorees are selected based on a population health impact, measurable improvement and scalability, among other criteria.
