Patients can still receive prenatal obstetric care from local physicians, though they’ll be required to deliver at one of four hospitals within an hour’s drive from Perry County Memorial Hospital.
The hospital’s emergency department will still handle emergency deliveries, and no employees are expected to be laid off in the service line closure.
