The report comes only a few weeks after Advocate announced it was exploring a partnership with BroMenn Healthcare System based in Bloomington-Normal, Ill.

Advocate, which has eight hospitals with 3,500 beds and a home healthcare company among its more than 200 sites of care, has historically focused solely on the metro Chicago area, according to Chicago Tribune.
