Tacoma, Wash.-based Virginia Mason Franciscan Health opened its hybrid emergency department and urgent care in Bremerton, the Kitsap Sun reported April 21.

The clinic has a fully functional ED with CT scan, X-ray machine, labs and 24/7 service. It does not treat patients with critical emergencies, but can take low-acuity patients that would otherwise be admitted to the hospital. The clinic sees an average of 81 patients per day.

In one month, the clinic has reduced average wait times for EMS transport from 18 minutes to 13 minutes.

This is the first of three clinics expected to open before the end of 2025.
