The medical district would be located within Springwoods Village, a $10 billion, 1,800-acre planned community development that would include houses, schools, parks and retail offices.

Keith Simon, CDC Houston senior vice president and development director, envisions the medial district as a hospital with several medical office buildings. The scope of construction will be determined by the healthcare provider who purchases the 60 acres earmarked for the project.
