Based on interviews, the Chronicle reported that questions to be addressed include whether a rare blend of public and private elements in the proposal would work and whether the facility would have enough physicians on staff.
The plan, which is needed to meet the district’s rising demand for services by the indigent, has met with a storm of protests from affiliated physicians and others since it was announced two and half weeks ago.
