According to the release, the hospital is the first to be built in the county in 35 years. The Maryland Health Care Commission approved Holy Cross Hospital’s proposal to build the hospital in January.

The new 93-bed hospital will include medical-surgical, obstetric and psychiatric services. In addition, by building the hospital on the campus of Montgomery College, the college and the hospital will establish a partnership of expanded training opportunities for future healthcare workers.
