HCA Healthcare’s Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia, Ga., has paused most services due to flooding.
The emergency room, women’s center and The Tommy and Shirley Strickland Cancer Center remain open, a health system spokesperson said in a July 21 statement shared with Becker’s, which was still accurate as of July 22.
“We are actively assessing the impacted areas and working to restore services as quickly and safely as possible,” the spokesperson said. “Patients affected by postponed procedures are being contacted directly.”
The hospital first posted about the flooding on its Facebook page July 20. Several parts of the hospital are still being serviced after “heavy flooding,” according to a July 21 post.
A health system spokesperson did not confirm the source of the flooding.
