Hc1, based in Zionsville, Ind., currently develops software for medical labs, pharmacies, physicians and health systems to track the business relationships they maintain. The company has already acquired contracts with major names such as Cleveland Clinic, Hospital Corporation of America in Nashville, Tenn., St. Vincent Health and Eskenazi Health, both in Indianapolis, to help it interact more effectively with patients, according to the Indiana Business Journal.
Hc1 draws information such as lab and radiology test results, prescription medication information, insurance information, billing and scheduling entries and data from a provider’s EHR to create patient profiles. When a significant change happens in a patient’s profile, Hc1’s system sends an automatically generated message to the patient and sends the patient’s name to a staff member who can call, according to the report.
Hc1 plans to fill a niche in patient communication that allows hospitals to buy one system that allows them to track patients’ conditions and communicate with them easily, according to the report.
