Three CommonSpirit Health hospital campuses in and around Chattanooga, Tenn., are experiencing delays in some radiology services, affecting appointment availability for certain imaging scans and lengthening wait times for others.
The delays stem from a switch to a new radiology provider, NBC affiliate WRCB-TV Local 3 News reported July 3. The system, formerly known as CHI Memorial, previously contracted with Diagnostic Imaging Consultants, a Chattanooga-based private radiology practice, according to the report. The new provider has not been named.
“We deeply regret any inconvenience this may have caused our patients,” CommonSpirit Tennessee and Georgia said in a July 3 Facebook post. “We understand that healthcare decisions are deeply personal and critically important, and you deserve timely and clear information.”
The system said teams across all affected facilities are working “around the clock” to restore full services, and that it is reviewing every case to ensure urgent and emergent needs are prioritized. Patients with affected upcoming radiology appointments will be contacted, the system said.
“We value your patience and continued trust as we navigate this temporary challenge,” the post said. “Our commitment to this community is absolute; it is, quite simply, our entire reason for being and has been for 75 years.”
The campuses — part of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health — are in Chattanooga, Hixson, Tenn., and Ringgold, Ga.
