According to a WKYC report, Cleveland Clinic child life specialists help kids understand what they are about to go through in an operating room in order to alleviate fear.
Child life specialists try to make the OR process easier for kids, using the five senses to relate to children and utilizing props such as stuffed animals and arts and crafts to learn about their conditions, the report said.
