Rush University Medical Center’s new cancer center opened in Chicago yesterday, a $13.3 million expansion that triples the size of the hospital’s previous cancer facility, according to a RUMC news release.
The Rush University Cancer Center features environmentally sustainable design, larger patient areas, new treatment rooms and space for palliative care and pain management.
The facility is one part of RUMC’s $1 billion, ten-year project to build new facilities, renovate existing buildings and adopt state-of-the-art technology. A new 14-story acute-care facility is slated to open in Jan. 2012.
