Carolina Health System to Manage Two Community Hospitals

A management contract with Stanly Regional Medical Center will go into effect March 1 and a similar agreement with Scotland Health Care System becomes official April 1.

CHS has worked with both hospitals in the past. Scotland Memorial was part of CHS’s network, and CHS helped developed the Stanly Regional West campus in 1995.

CHS is not assuming any debt from the hospitals, but rather providing access to resources, helping with physician recruitment and offering supply-chain management, according to the press releases.

The hospitals will keep local boards that will handle financial decisions.
