The medical center replaces Capital Health’s Mercer campus, a medical center located in Trenton, N.J. The Mercer campus has seen inpatient volumes drop 30 percent since 1997. Hospital administrators said declining inpatient volumes mirror a decreasing population in Trenton.

Capital Health officials hope the Hopewell campus will increase emergency and outpatient volumes by 30 percent and bring in an additional $130 million in revenue, according to the report.
