The health centers, called TeamCare, will be staffed by full-time physicians and nurses to provide BayCare employees with onsite health, wellness and early detection services to prevent illness and improve health. The centers will offer urgent and primary care, chronic condition and disease management, screenings, laboratory services, pharmacy and wellness education.
Two TeamCare locations will open June 5 near the campuses of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla., and Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. The employee health centers may be expanded to more BayCare locations and other area employers in the future, according to the news release.
Stephen R. Mason, president and CEO of BayCare, said in the release that the decision to provide onsite health centers for employees supports the system’s strategy of moving from episodic care to overall health.
