Arizona Children’s Hospital Opens for Business

University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., has begun transferring patients from its pediatric wing to the new Diamond Children’s Medical Center, according to a report in the Arizona Daily Wildcat.

The new children’s hospital, developed in partnership with the Steele Children’s Research Center, has been under construction for three years.

The new center has 116 beds, up from 87 in the University Medical Center’s pediatric wing, and each bed has a computer by the bedside for nurses’ convenience, according to the report.
